Produced by Horizon Theatre and Atlanta Children's Theatre
Directed by Spring Mason
Comedy/Drama by Shay Youngblood
From the book by Mary Hoffman

We're offering another "Amazing" Show this Summer!

Another collaboration between the Atlanta Children's Theatre and the award-winning Horizon Theatre!  This is an exciting opportunity for selected young actors to work with professional adult actors at one of Atlanta's premier professional theatres.

We're casting ten children (boys and girls) between the ages of 8 and 14 and three adult females for this delightful and touching play based on the popular children's book, "Amazing Grace" by Mary Hoffman.  The story revolves around Grace, a little girl with a big imagination who loves acting out stories, those told to her by her grandmother as well as ones she reads on her own.  Her grandmother, Nana, believes that Grace can be whatever she wants to be, but Grace is told by two of her classmates that she can't be Peter Pan in the school play because she is a girl and because she is black. The play will use a variety of storytelling techniques including movement, percussion and music as Grace and her friends explore stories and life with a bit of folk wisdom.

We are committed to producing the highest quality professional production as possible.  It's important for both child actors and their families to understand they are committing to a professional creative process, including preparing for and attending all rehearsals.  Parents will have an opportunity to review the rehearsal schedule and disclose conflicts prior to casting.
